ANOTHER LARGER THAN LIFE EVENT WITH THE SCULLY MORNING SHOW:
KIRK @ METALLICA THRU THE NEVER
The movie opened Friday with guitarist Kirk Hammett on hand to introduce the show. Top news we discovered....he said bringing ORION MUSIC AND MORE FEST to Dallas was a GREAT idea!! Metallica loved playing Ozzfest here back in Aug of 2008 and they would be up for considering Dallas on the next Orion. It was a total thrill to see Kirk, meet him and have him personally engage the crowd. He's a cool guy, very laid back and easy going. We definitely showed him that DFW ROCKS, cuz that had to be the LOUDEST welcome that theatre has ever heard. People said our crowd was so loud, you could hear it over the films in the other theatres! Thanks to everyone who came out, it was truly a larger than life event.
HERES VIDEO BOB from Vinnie Paul's Big Vin Records getting in on the action.
WE WERE ALL TOLD NO AUTOGRAPHS...by Kirks mgmt. They do that so the artist isnt overwhelmed with 3 hours of signing, cuz if you sign one...ya gotta sign em all. Well Bob gets his guitar in, we all were wondering who's it was.....here's VIDEO BOB'S STORY:
"so basically, his handler saw the guitar and sat in front of it and said, "no autographs", I told him about RFD, but he refused.
Well, I knew that Kirk was a huge lover of comic books and movie props so I gave him some of my goodies and he actually said he recognized me from eBay! He is interested in some of my stuff!
So then he started playing with my guitar and insisted on signing it for me."
YA SEE...NEVER SAY NEVER. You little beeyatch Bob, we are all jealous!
Not much else happened backstage...we were trying to video tape, but the handlers were like.."no pics no video, let Kirk relax". We got some group shots, but you'll see on my FB page, video of Kirk signing the guitar, when the handler comes over and waves us down. NO VIDEO. I think Kirk was impressed with our crowd and our warm reception. The theatre was so dark, it was hard to get any pics or video in there....More pics coming, check back soon!
