Maybe I'm getting too musician nerdy here, but Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" is written/played in a minor scale, which gives it a darker, more somber tone (click here to learn more about how major/minor scales change the "emotion" of music).

Here, the song is digitally altered to play in a major scale, which definitely changes the mood of the song. Pretty interesting!
