The Foo Fighters are narrowing the time frame for the release of their new album. The band says its still-untitled follow-up to 2011's Wasting Light will hit stores in November.
The new record features eight songs recorded in eight different iconic studios around the country. But despite the relatively short track list, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl recently told The Hollywood Reporter the record might be their longest to date. He explained that the unique cross-country recording process made him take a more "cinematic approach" to songwriting.
The making of the Foo Fighters' new album is documented in Grohl's upcoming HBO series "Sonic Highways," which is also expected to premiere this fall. The show not only covers the band's time in the studio, but also explores the musical character of the cities they visit, including New Orleans, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and more.
